Thank you for  your interest in StormKing Photography.  I am a Washington State resident who grew up near Mt. Rainier, Washington, and after 23 years as an Army Officer, semi-retired back to my hometown and took up my lifelong passion of photography.  I am also pursuing a PhD in counseling and am a free-lance writer.

I adore the area, the beauty, and the people around Mt. Rainier and the Pacific Northwest but love to travel, and usually take my trusty Nikon with me.

I specialize in landscape photography  -- much of which I take during my long hiking trips with my beloved Coonhound, Huckleberry.  I also love retail/corporate photography,  location shoots, People shoots and anything creative and inventive. 

I  believe in an old school approach to photography.  I grew up on film and slides where every shot cost me money – If I can’t take it, a computer shouldn’t help me (with exceptions of course), but use a variety of modern tools.  I really enjoy working with clients on their specific ideas and needs.

I love to use a variety of media, including wrapped canvas, metal, and organic framing which uses material near where I take my photos to showcase them in a natural way.

You can find my work live and large at the ELBE JUNCTION, in Elbe, Washington on the road to Paradise, Mount Rainier, across from the Mount Rainier Railroad.  Look for the old Barn Door display that is actually my old barn door.
